Our purpose is to embrace Italian culture and ideas through studying the language in the relaxed company of fellow members. In the spirit of U3A, each member is both a learner and a teacher. Topics for the programme are chosen by our 12 members who each present their chosen topic to the group whilst involving individual participation in reading, speaking and writing Italian. Previous sessions have included a games session, individual talks on a chosen handmade item, a study of Italy's role in WW1 and a session on the history of the Mafia. Our December meetings are usually an Italian festive meal with contributions of food and drink by members.
