Details We cover a wide range of art works from earliest times to the present. Each session consists of a presentation by a member or sometimes contributions by all on a given topic or the work of an individual artist, allowing time for group participation, depending. Details A venue for those who have an interest in the stars, sun, planets, space, satellites, the universe and everything in-between! Discussions and A/V presentations will be pitched on a par with popular astronomy tv programs and magazines. Only requirements: an enquiring mind and a readiness to be blown away by the sheer majesty and awesomeness of the heavens above. Any necessary maths / physics concepts are simply illustrated in the presentations and available for handouts for anybody wishing to explore more deeply. New members are welcome

Details Discussions and presentations will be pitched on a par with popular astronomy TV programs and magazines. The only requirements are an inquiring mind and a readiness to be blown away by the sheer majesty and awesomeness of the heavens above. We have plenty of space for new and existing members, so do come along to continue your journey, or start a new one. This year I am adding some talks that look at using the science of astronomy to illuminate art and history. We are starting with a look at how the Creature in Mary Shelly's book was influenced by the Moon.

Canasta

Details We started back after the summer break on Tuesday, 5th September, singing some fantastic songs!! This a group of people who love to sing - It is NOT a choir, not everyone has to sing in tune, but it helps if the majority do!!! Musicians VERY welcome. The words to the songs with the chords are projected onto the wall. Sorry I do not have the black dots! We have a tea/coffee break in the middle, when we can chat and get to know each other. We are a mixed group of ladies and gentlemen and are a very friendly group who have lots of fun! Meet at No. 65 The High Street, Nailsea. Details The quiz group is located at the Consti club in the centre of Clevedon and runs on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Participants are allocated into teams at random at every session and as a result everyone gets a chance to meet and join in with others. This is intended as a fun quiz and therefore the questions are not too difficult! The cost is £1.50 per session and this includes tea or coffee. Details Woodspring u3a – Sea Shanty Group The main point of the group is to get together to have fun singing sea shanties. Sea shanties teach us something about maritime heritage as they all tell a story. Limited singing talent will not bar membership of the crew but any reasonably tuneful singers would certainly benefit the rest of us! Reading the dots isn’t required.
