Life Universe and Everything

Meets Monday Week 4 except December & August
Venue Donyatt Village Hall - map
Contact Brian Harper Tel: 01460 394128
Details The aim of this group is to examine and evaluate the insights of people past and present in trying to unravel the complexities of our mysterious universe and the role and nature of humanity within it. We try to keep abreast of these ideas, often using excellent resource material which is now available from the U3A and internet. However, we are not an academic bunch and ensure that material presented at group meetings meets the needs of the layperson rather than the egghead. Our broad endeavours take us into a variety of traditional areas of human enquiry – philosophy, science, religion and belief systems, ethics, mind studies, the paranormal, cosmology, art, history, and so on. Our reflections rarely conclude that there are absolute answers, and the one thing missing from our wide-ranging discussions is certainty! Our informal meetings are characterised by careful thought and discussion, and are often laced with humour. All members of our group are invited to suggest topics, or even present them. If you would like to know more please give me a ring. Meetings are held at Donyatt Village Hall - 10.00am to 12 noon on the fourth Monday of each month (excepting August and December) The current fee of 50p per meeting applies. With no meeting in August or December, each six-month period contains five meetings. This means that the charge is £2.50 payable at the first meeting, instead of five payments of 50p.
