Art     

Meets 4th Wednesday monthly 2pm
Normally starts 14:00 to 16:00
Details The Art Group welcomes members of all abilities, from those who have had an interest in art for many years to those who think they would like to “have a go”. More experienced members are available to help beginners if needed, and members can choose the art medium they prefer. The programme is mainly focused on doing rather than studying art, but any art related activity is possible if the group wishes. There are opportunities for all to suggest subjects and activities for the Group, and all members can be involved in decisions. The Group meets at Starston Jubilee Hall on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 2 pm, and anyone wishing to know more, please contact Peter Metcalf on 01379 854872.

Badminton     

Meets Wed 10am
Normally starts 10:00 to 12:00
Details We play for 2 hours on Wednesday mornings at Wortwell Community Centre from 10am till noon.

Board Games     

Meets 2nd & 4th Thursday of every month
Normally starts 14:00 to 16:00
Details Do you enjoy playing Board Games? Why not come along to our friendly group and play some more. We meet twice a month. On the second Thursday of each month we play various Board, Dice and Card games, which are easy to learn and fun to play. On the fourth Thursday of each month we play Mahjong and Scrabble. Even if you’ve never played these games before please do come along there will be people happy to teach you how to play. The group meets for both monthly meetings in the upstairs room of Harleston Information Plus, 8 Exchange St. from 2.00 to 4.00pm. Book Group 1     

Meets 1st Tuesday of the month
Normally starts 14:00 to 16:00
Details The Book Group meet monthly, usually on the first Tuesday in the month at 2pm in a member's home. We read a book a month and meet over coffee to have a light-hearted discussion on it's merits - or not, as the case may be.

Gentle Exercise To Music     

Meets Wednesday 10.00 am
Details The Gentle Exercise group is full and cannot take any new members at the present time.

Golf     

Meets Varies
Details The group is aimed at people of a similar level to the present members, i.e. people who play irregularly or haven't played golf for some time. If interested please contact Phil Poulton on 01986 788149

Lunch Group Thursday     

Meets Last Thursday of the month
Details The lunch group meets for a meal on the last Thursday of each month. We go to pubs or restaurants within easy driving reach of Harleston. Enjoy good food and good company. New members always welcome

Play Reading     

Meets Third Tuesday of every month 2.00 p.m.
Normally starts 14:00 to 16:00
Details We meet the Third Tuesday of each month (except in December) at The Swan Hotel, Harleston - 2pm to 4pm (through the entrance and first door on the right). No experience is necessary (only enthusiasm and a willingness to read out aloud) . Plays are usually suggested by one of the group with copies handed out at the beginning of the meeting.

Poets & Poetry     

Meets Tuesday afternoon
Details The Poets and Poetry group was formed in January 2020 and meets at Freston House, the home of Trevor and Gill Scott, the Group leaders. The membership is limited to ten in order to give each person time to contribute during the hour-and-a-half meeting.

Meets Fridays 11.30 am
Normally starts 11:30 to 12:00
Details Meet 11.30am to Noon every Friday at the private pool, Oaklands Leisure Pool, Flixton Road, Bungay NR35 1PD.

Meets Tuesdays 9.00 a.m.

Walking Group     

Meets Last Thursday of the month
Details The 'Longer walking group' was formed in 2013 for those wanting to improve their walking and general fitness and also for the sheer enjoyment of walking. The group has gradually increased in number making it easier to organise walks.
