Information | | The Bridge Group has 20 members. We meet at Bishop Auckland Golf Club.
The Group was formed in September 2011 and formal lessons were given until Summer 2015.
Although formal lessons have finished, the Group is continuing as a learning group, with the occasional revision lesson. The group holds Deal and Play Duplicate pairs sessions with one of these sessions each month being scored.
The Group continues to welcome the participation of any U3A member. New starters can be helped to learn bridge by sitting in on play sessions and making use of our collection of training materials, books and DVDs.
We are fortunate that Bishop Auckland Bridge Club has kindly allowed us to use their bridge equipment (bidding boxes, stationery and table tops) for a nominal fee.
Although we are learning how to play duplicate bridge we are not forgetting that we are playing for fun and that bridge has a strong social element.
The sessions are held in a comfortable, light and airy room with lovely views, refreshments are available and parking is free. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and fun. Come and join us and enjoy a convivial morning with like-minded folk.
New members are offered a very warm welcome.
